The Beijing Olympics did show a wonderful display of fireworks that lighted up the night sky at the opening ceremony. Even with just pictures I was awed with the variety of colors and explosions that lit up the sky. A few days after, a friend of mine sent an article about part of the fireworks being faked on tv. So those fireworks you saw? Not all of them were real. I can’t say anything about this because I can’t be certain. I hadn’t read an article that this was confirmed real or not, just the article that said some were faked. Although digitizing is already possible during this era, it would be disappointing if it were true that the fireworks were digitized. Though not a big issue for me since I don’t care much to be bothered about it, I was a bit concerned when I read a news report in CNN’s website about a girl singing the song while China’s flag was paraded into the stadium was not sung by the girl herself but was just lip syncing it. The girl who lip synced is indeed cute compared to the girl who actually sang it but I was disappointed that this happened. Even though the girl who sang it said she was honored even if her voice was only heard because she took part of the event, I think it’s pretty insulting. For sure the girl who was seen by many lip syncing it will now be famous because of her performance, I feel that the girl whose voice was heard by many was robbed of an opportunity herself to be famous, tsk.
